About this service

What is self-levelling screed?

Self-levelling screed is a pourable, liquid floor compound that flows and settles under its own weight to create a perfectly flat, smooth surface. Applied over an existing substrate — concrete, old screed, or adhesive residue — it eliminates undulations and provides an ideal base for any final floor finish, including resin, tile, or engineered wood.

PMC installs both cementitious and anhydrite (calcium sulphate) screeds depending on the application. Cementitious screeds suit all areas including wet rooms and commercial environments; anhydrite screeds are particularly suited to underfloor heating installations, offering excellent thermal conductivity and shorter drying times.

Thicknesses range from 3mm (levelling compound) to 50mm (structural floating screed over insulation). We assess your existing substrate, prime and prepare as required, and pour to the specified depth and finish tolerance. If resin or tile is to follow, the screed is included as part of the full installation quote.
